Mike Jackson is a retired academic who now lives in Shropshire. He studied Computer Science at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. As part of his working life, Mike was a Professor at the University of Wolverhampton. Mike currently moderates exam papers as part of the BCS Higher Education Qualification. He is a member of the tbe BCS Academic Accreditation Committee.

Hampshire 2008 Photo Album. In August 2008 I had a weeks holiday in a cottage in a village called Chawton in Hampshire. Chawton is famous for containing the house in which Jane Austen lived at the point she was writing and completing her most famous work. Photographs show Butser Hill a site of special scientific interest, the Watercress Line steam railway running from Alton to Alresford and Chawton. The contents of the page could not be displayed. This was a holiday spent in County Clare in the West of Ireland. The main base was Cooraclare which was good for visits to the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. Close to Cooraclare there was the Loop Head peninsula with the Bridges of Ross. Unfortunately, the dolphins were not in evidence! .
Photographs taken prior to and during the VLDB 2000 conference. Which took place in Cairo. The sequence of photos is Cairo, Israel, Cairo, Sharm-el -sheik and finally back to Cairo for the conference. The Sharm-el-sheik photographs include a visit to Mount Sinai at dawn.

Mike Jackson - Lake District 2007. This page provides links to the photographs I took in the Lake District in July 2007. My holiday was spent at Centre Parcs Penrith and there are some photographs of the Bird of Prey sessions there. You should see a European Eagle Owl, a Harris Hawk, a Peregrine Falcon, a Kestrel and a Buzzard. There are also pictures of Derwentwater and Ullswater.
