Mike Jackson is a retired academic who now lives in Shropshire. He studied Computer Science at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. As part of his working life, Mike was a Professor at the University of Wolverhampton. Mike currently moderates exam papers as part of the BCS Higher Education Qualification. This was a holiday spent in County Clare in the West of Ireland. The main base was Cooraclare which was good for visits to the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. Close to Cooraclare there was the Loop Head peninsula with the Bridges of Ross. Unfortunately, the dolphins were not in evidence! .
Photographs taken prior to and during the VLDB 2000 conference. Which took place in Cairo. The sequence of photos is Cairo, Israel, Cairo, Sharm-el -sheik and finally back to Cairo for the conference. The Sharm-el-sheik photographs include a visit to Mount Sinai at dawn.
